Green Day

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is celebrating June 5th as the World Environment Day. In recent years, the world has become painfully aware of the impact modern human lifestyle has on the environment.

We have declared June 4th as Green Day at Karvy Global in an effort to consciously remind ourselves of the simple things that we can do as our bit for the world. From simple things like preventing wastage of paper in office, reducing the use of plastics, setting the air-conditioning at optimum levels, and saving water to the more complicated implementation of an energy-efficient infrastructure; there are ample opportunities to play good Samaritans.

These small steps by us could well be the giant leaps for everyone around us..!!

Come join us…and let’s spread the word…

As the World Environment Day raises awareness on the importance of the outdoor environment for health and well-being, equally important is indoor environment. Indoor air quality is heralded as the key element in ensuring a healthy environment. Of course, of vital importance is the construction quality and maintenance of buildings to achieve the desired air quality.
Most of us spend the majority of our time indoors—whether at home or work—and, are therefore, entitled to the comfort of quality ventilation systems. Office workers’ health and productivity directly correlate to IAQ. And, yes, it makes good business sense. Superior IAQ improves productivity, prevents unnecessary absenteeism, resulting in economic gains for the employer and comfortable working conditions for the employee.
Although we are a long way off from the “green building” concept, I applaud your efforts, however small, in promoting environmental awareness.

How about walking or biking to work at least once a week? It has the double benefit of reducing our carbon footprint, and may also reduce waistlines.
